LSF STRENGTHEN COMMITMENT TO LEGAL AID IN ZANZIBAR.

LSF participated actively in the Fourth Legal Aid Forum held in Zanzibar, bringing together diverse stakeholders to explore strategies for enhancing access to justice through legal aid services.

The event, organized by key legal aid partners, was graced by Hon. Haroun Ali Suleiman, the Minister of State in the Office of the President for Constitution, Legal Affairs, Public Service, and Good Governance in Zanzibar, who served as the Guest of Honor. In his opening remarks, Hon. Suleiman underscored the critical role of legal aid services in promoting equal access to justice, particularly for marginalized groups.

Representing LSF, Mr. Bakari Hamad, the Zanzibar Program Officer, shared insightful contributions during the discussions. He highlighted LSF's ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening legal aid in Zanzibar. Special emphasis was placed on empowering women and children to seek justice and resolve legal challenges through accessible and affordable legal aid services.

The forum served as a platform to review achievements and map out actionable solutions to challenges in the legal aid sector. Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to addressing systemic barriers that hinder equitable access to justice.

LSF continues to work closely with the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and other partners to ensure that legal aid reaches every corner of the community. By prioritizing inclusivity and equity, LSF envisions a society where justice is not a privilege but a right accessible to all.
