LSF’s CONTRIBUTIONS AT CSO WEEK 2024.

The CSO Week 2024, held from September 9th to 13th in Arusha, was another key event where LSF made significant contributions. This year’s theme, "Vision, Voice, Value," aligned with Tanzania’s Vision 2050 and centered on leadership, democracy, and representation as the country prepares for the 2025 elections.

LSF organized a special session focusing on the participation of women and youth in leadership. The session highlighted the systemic challenges women face, including low representation in grassroots leadership roles, and emphasized the need for affirmative action and mindset change by 2050. Discussions called for long-term planning and education to ensure gender equality in leadership positions.

Another highlight was the Kigoda cha Wanawake wa Kimasaai session in Longido, organized by LSF in collaboration with Vodacom. This session provided a platform for marginalized Maasai women to share their challenges and successes in leadership and economic empowerment. Key discussions focused on cultural barriers, the role of men in supporting women’s progress, and the importance of financial services in bridging economic gaps for rural women.

During CSO Week, LSF also engaged with various organizations to explore partnership opportunities. Notable meetings included discussions with the NMB Foundation and Vodacom to support joint initiatives, as well as conversations with the Mastercard Foundation to fund education projects in Tanzania.

Through its impactful contributions during CSO Week, LSF continues to champion the empowerment of women and youth, aligning with Tanzania’s Vision 2050 for inclusive leadership and sustainable development.
