The Legal Services Facility (LSF) is honored to have participated in the Annual Non-Governmental Organizations Symposium (ANGOF 2025)—a comprehensive five-year national review highlighting the vital contributions of NGOs to Tanzania’s development agenda.
Held as a strategic platform for dialogue and reflection, ANGOF 2025 brought together civil society actors, government representatives, development partners, and community stakeholders to evaluate progress, share lessons, and strengthen collaboration across sectors. The symposium offered a unique opportunity to assess how collective efforts have contributed to national priorities while identifying key areas where deeper engagement is needed.
For LSF, the event was a meaningful space to reaffirm our commitment to access to justice, gender equality, and community-driven development. Throughout the discussions, we shared experiences from our programs across the country—highlighting the impact of legal empowerment initiatives, the value of community justice facilitators, and the importance of ensuring that women, girls, and marginalized groups are meaningfully included in development processes.
The symposium also spotlighted challenges facing the NGO sector, including resource gaps, policy shifts, and the need for stronger coordination mechanisms. These conversations underscored the significance of sustained partnerships and innovative approaches to deliver long-term, transformative change.
ANGOF 2025 concluded with a shared vision: strengthening the role of NGOs as key partners in national development and enhancing their capacity to deliver inclusive, rights-based solutions for communities. LSF remains committed to contributing to this collective mission and working alongside stakeholders to build a just, equitable, and empowered Tanzania.
