The 2024 NGO Forum, held from September 4th to 6th at the Jakaya Kikwete Hall in Dodoma, attracted over 2000 participants from various NGOs, government institutions, and stakeholders. The event aimed to showcase the achievements of the NGO sector, address its challenges, and explore new opportunities for enhancing collaboration between NGOs and the government.

LSF took center stage during the forum with its active involvement in multiple key areas. LSF was the main coordinator of the Legal Aid Clinics, in partnership with the Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs, paralegals, lawyers, and other stakeholders. These clinics, held in Chamwino Ikulu and nearby areas, provided legal services to 456 individuals, covering crucial topics such as gender-based violence, land disputes, inheritance, and child custody matters.

At LSF’s exhibition booth more than 120 visitors engaged with LSF representatives to learn about their work and access legal resources. The booth received notable attention from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Hon. Dotto Biteko, along with other high-ranking government officials. During his visit, Hon. Biteko praised LSF’s efforts to enhance access to justice and presented the organization with a Certificate of Recognition for its outstanding work in providing legal aid services and advocating for legal rights across Tanzania.

LSF’s CEO, Ms. Lulu Ng'wanakilala, also participated in a panel discussion on NGO sustainability, where she emphasized the importance of government support in ensuring the long-term provision of legal aid services, especially for marginalized communities.

Receiving the Certificate from Hon. Dotto Biteko was a proud moment for LSF, highlighting its impactful work and its ongoing commitment to improving access to justice in Tanzania.
