Legal Services Facility > What We Do

We strive to increase justice for all, particularly for women.

The LSF promotes protection of human rights for all, with an emphasis on poor women, girls and other vulnerable groups. We enhance the availability, affordability, accessibility, and acceptability of quality legal aid services through paralegals and other legal aid providers. LSF works closely with the government of Tanzania at all levels, development partners, organizations involved in the provision of legal aid, including paralegal services and other like-minded stakeholders.

Grant Making
Result-oriented grants aim to facilitate legal empowerment with increased protection of women’s rights to land, property, safety and security.
Capacity Development
The LSF supports legal aid providers to build and develop capacities both institutionally and technically. Furthermore, LSF contribution is made towards increasing accountability, transparency and quality of legal aid delivery.
Partnerships & Networking
LSF works closely with key stakeholder in the country and across the region, including government, developing partners, private sector, Civil Society Organization, various local and regional networks and like-minded organizations.
Learning
Learning is promoted by rigorously establishing what works and what does not work. We pilot different approaches and systematically monitor our partners, which informs the direction of the program.
