Dr. Bana is the current chairman of the LSF board after serving as a member for quite some time within this body.

He is currently a senior lecturer and head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Dar es Salaam. His vital skills in International Relations, research, program evaluation, strategic planning, and Human Rights helps shape the organization and set it to achieve its goals.

Lulu joined the LSF in May 2019 as its new CEO and brings vast experience working in the NGO industry for several years.

She has served in various capacities including as Chairperson of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood in Tanzania (WRATZ), Steering Committee Member of the Leading Safe Choices Project (LSC), Board Director of Tanzania Women of Achievement (TWA) and Founder and Board Member of Tanzania Centre for Communication and Development (TCDC). She has also played a vital role in policy reforms and technical working groups at the coordination, facilitation and participatory levels including in the National Poverty Reduction Strategy (MKUKUTA). Ng’wanakilala is also a member of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS).

Ms Asha has been a board member of the LSF since 2012 and brings enormous knowledge and understanding from Zanzibar.

She has a broad understanding on issues around gender, women rights, and access to justice which are core areas of the organization. Asha has spent most of her career in CSOs field working in different capacities for the past 20 years.
Said Kambi

Kambi has over 20 years’ technical and strategic experience with capacity-building institutions, financial institutions and as financial & management consultant, trainer and performance coach in Tanzania and abroad.

These are all vital to the organization sustainability in the long run for business development expertise. Kambi, who joined the board in 2018, has served in several management and governance positions in different institutions and companies in Tanzania.

Ms Cheggy has served the LSF board since 2017. She brings to the board her expertise in Corporate/Commercial Law Transactions, Competition Banking and Finance (especially security arrangements, perfection and project finance) and Real Estate.

She is also a member of several professional societies such as Tanganyika Law Society, East Africa Law Society, SADC Lawyers Association, and Commonwealth Lawyers Association.

Board Member

Focus, who joined the board in 2017, brings his vast experience in financial management consulting for more than 20 years in Tanzania and abroad. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Mathematics and is a Certified Public Accountant of Tanzania.

Focus is a member of National Board of Accountants and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA). He has extensive experience in auditing, forensic investigative auditing, procurement, accounting and general financial advisory services.
Moses Kulaba

Mr. Moses Kulaba is currently an independent consultant and one of the founding Directors of Governance and Economic Policy Centre (GEPC).

GEPC is a knowledge hub of community of practitioners based in Tanzania and others working across international borders. He has an extensive professional training background in Political science, Development Economics, Tax Revenue Law and Diplomacy, with over 14 years’ experience in Governance, Democratization, Public policy analysis, extractive governance and program management. He has served the board with commitment since 2012 bringing strategic assets in LSF’s programing and witnessed the evolution of the LSF from its formative years as a basket fund to its current status as a national and regional player on matters related to access to justice. He currently serves as the LSF Liaison based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Beng'i Mazana Issa
Beng'i Mazana Issa
Board Member

Ms Mazana joined the Legal Services Facility governing board in 2018 and is a strong advocate of women economic empowerment in Tanzania.

She was central to the designing and development of the Women Economic Empowerment program in Tanzania and is a member of the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC). With more than 20 years’ experience, Mazana is more specialized in strategy planning, budgeting, human resources, procurement and program management.

Ms Munira is an expert in community economic development and has worked with different national and international organizations in diverse capacities.

Some of these organizations and institutions include ministry of finance, Zanzibar International Film Festival, UNDP, SIDA, and Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ZNCCIA).
